Third degree black belt Kevin Regan was born in Great Falls, Montana. Kevin is a physician assistant in the U.S. Navy. While stationed at the Naval Academy in 1981, a friend of a friend, Jeff Barlow, brought Joe Sheya in for treatment of an injured arm. Joe invited Kevin to take a look at his class. Kevin started studying Hapkido and was promoted to black belt on 17 May 1986.
Later that year, Kevin left the area for another assignment. While he was away from Hapkido he tried Aikido, Judo, and Botokan Karate. Kevin returned to the Naval Academy and Rim's Hapkido in 1995. On 26 December 1997 Kevin was promoted to third degree black belt.
Kevin's hobbies include archery, hiking, camping, and tour kayaking. In 1998 Kevin left us for another duty assignment in Brunswick, Maine. We hope he has time to teach Hapkido while he's there.
What Kevin most likes about Hapkido is the "comraderie, the closeness of the group, its like a family... Hapkido has been a good experience. I've learned to accept a lot of things in myself... I'm more secure in myself than anything else."
